How the night works

  1. Everyone scans

    Your host asks the room to scan the code. Phones land in a waiting room. No app, no sign-up, just a first name.

  2. One word each

    With a tap, every phone asks for a single word: an adjective, a noun, a verb. Nobody knows what it's for. Answers take seconds.

  3. The reveal

    Later, your host reads the finished story aloud. The room hears its own words land, one after another, in a story about tonight.

Your host sees the story first and can swap any word before reading it. Nothing is ever shown on guests' phones.

Why it's funnier than the paper kind

Once people know the game, they stop answering and start performing. Every word becomes a joke they're trying to land.

Questions

Do guests need to download an app?

No. They point their phone camera at the code and the game opens in their browser.

How many people can play?

Anything from a small dinner to a couple of hundred guests. More players means more words to choose from for every blank.

What if someone types something rude?

Your host sees the finished story before reading it and can swap any word for another guest's, or type their own.

Do we need an MC?

You need someone to tap start and read the story out loud. A friend, the DJ, your boss, you. The host screen tells them what to do.

We don't have tables. Does it still work?

Yes. Show the code on a TV, put up a poster, or send the link to the group chat. Anyone with the code can join.
